Why Genetic Testing?
We have always participated in the mandatory and voluntary genetic testing offered to breeders of Dexter cattle.  Color testing and genotyping is done by Texas A&M University by agreement with the American Dexter Cattle Association (ADCA).  All of our breeding stock (and their offspring) is negative for chondrodysplasia (sometimes called the bulldog condition) and negative for PHA.  We also genotype all bulls that are breeding stock or offered for sale.  We are investigating testing our breeding stock for milkline genotypes. We believe it is important for potential customers to be fully informed to be able to make sound purchase decisions.
